New Pattern

Hi all,

It’s been ages since my last post, and this time it’s a good reason. I’ve started college! I’m having loads of fun, and I still have plenty of time for designing!

Speaking of designing, I have a new pattern out called Elysian Fields Shawl.

It’s made from Frog Tree Alpaca Fingering weight wool.

Check out the pictures!

Currently I’m working on EZ’s Adult Surprise Jacket, EZ’s Pi shawl, the Clapotis scarf, and a pair of socks for myself( I’m knitting them in between classes!) I also want to try out an idea I got last night. It has to do with the Surprise Jacket. I’ll post pictures once I try it out!

Happy Knitting.

My Toddler

Here are pictures of my new toddler. I changed her eyes a little to match Sydney’s. I’m really pleased with the outcome, I just used watercolor pencils!

Here’s a Sasha blog I read all the time!  It’s a great blog to follow!!!

Sasha Studio Dolls

Hi all,

Here are the promised pictures of the Studio Dolls. Shelia, the Festival organizer, asked me to blur out the tags for security/privacy sake.  It was so amazing to be there with those dolls! I was in awe the whole time!!

Enjoy the eye candy,

Check out Franberry’s blog about the Sasha Festival. I had the wonderful privilege of meeting her! You’ll also see a picture of me right after I bought my toddler!

Enjoy!

Day 4

Sorry this is a day late. We got home about 6:30pm and I just crashed ;)

After wonderful night sleep we got up and went to brunch and the convention center. We had bagels , cinnamon rolls, fruit, eggs, potatoes, bacon, and sausage. It was all really yummy!  After we had finished eating Jan Johnson talked about next years festival. It’ll be in wonderful San Francisco!

I’ve always wanted to go to San Francisco, now we just have to talk my dad into it! And I think we’re pretty close to accomplishing it!
After Jan was the raffle drawings. Unfortunatly I was so interested in the Studio Dolls I missed the winners of the dolls :(

All in all I had a wonderful time! I’m so glad I wanted to do this for my graduation! It was like a 4 day party! I LOVED meeting everyone, by the end it really felt like one big family get together. Everyone made me feel so welcome and I truly appreciate that! Sasha collectors really are such a nice group of people.

I’ve touched up my toddlers eyes this morning. I’m really pleased with the results. I’ll include the before and after pictures!

Here are some of the pictures from day 4.

Enjoy!

P.S. I’ll be posting some follow ups later this week. Sasha *hugs*!

Day 3

Wow, what a long, busy day!  First my mum and I went early to help set up the auction. I’ve taken pictures of everything that was up for auction. There were 106 items total! Then I went to set up for the “Dress a Sasha” contest. I didn’t win, but it was still tons of fun!!! Then was the gift exchange. It was crazy! I managed to get a Irish dress for Syd.

We had some free time before lunch so we sat out on the patio. The Gregor lunch was great. Everyone at our table got little knitted Christmas stockings with Sasha sized imported Cadbury candy! We also got either a bracelet and necklace set, of a boa type scarf (not for the Gregors)!  The auction was after lunch, and all the kids, including me, helped show off the items. It was over about 4 so everyone went their separate ways for dinner. Then my mum and I went to the Mount Hope Cemetery where Susan B. Anthony is buried. We also spent some time wondering about. I’ve always been fascinated by cemeteries. I’ll include the pictures I took there. It was so amazing. Then we went back to the center and waited for the sales to begin. It was in a hallway and two rooms. All the items for sale were AMAZING! I came back with tons of clothes and (drum roll please!) a Gotz toddler!!!!! I’m thinking of names for her. Macy, Piper, or Maxine.

There is a big surprise tomorrow, there will be a LARGE collection of studio dolls. I don’t know how many, I only know it’s the largest collection that has EVER been in the US. It’ll be second only to the museum in Zurich! We will be allowed to take pictures, so I’ll get as many as I can. I’m really excited.

Enjoy all the pictures! I had fun taking them!

P.S.(again)

Here are the pictures from the cemetery!

Day 2

Craft day! We all made Sasha sized crafts. The first one I made was two Sasha sized postcards! They are super cute!!! Next was a Lilac Hat. We got to pick a hat, small or large, and we had ribbons and flowers to decorate . Then we made a bracelet/necklace out of really pretty purple beads.(Can you sense a theme?) Last was a scrap book page. There were really cute pictures and postcards from the area. Then we all adjourned for lunch and some freetime.

At 2:00 we all came back and listen to some talks. Dorisanne was first. Her talk was so interesting! I learned a little about Sydney, who is a ‘95 Gotz. I’ll have to blog about it tomorrow because I left the paper in the car and I’m too lazy to go out and get it. Plus it’s 10pm!! Then a woman from the Strong Toy Museum came and talked about the history of the museum. Then we had a short break, so we could go back to our hotels and get ourselves and our Sashas ready for the dinner. Everyone brought their Lilac Hats from this afternoon. Dinner was great! There was a salad, roasted veggies, pasta, salmon, chicken with mushrooms, and pork. My mum’s Sasha, Charlotte, met Prince Gregor! She was quite smitten! He even presented her with some lilac flowers. That was her dream come true!!!

Then we had a special guest- Susan B. Anthony! O.K. it was an actress, but a pretty darn convincing one! She gave a wonderful speech about her life and the fight for women’s rights. It was so inspiring!

Then there was the hat parade, where all the kids, including me (I guess I’m still a kid!!), picked out our favorite hats. We then awarded a little trophy to that person. I picked Sandra, who kindly agreed to pose for a picture with Isabella, her 1970’s brunette gingham.

Thanks Sandra when ever you read this! You hat was/is beautiful! ;)

Then a bunch of Ravelry knitters and crocheters sat out in the lobby to chat and work on what ever we brought. My mum and I stayed until about 9:40, but we have to be back at the festival by 7am to help set up and then for the “Dress a Sasha” contest set up. Wish me luck, I’ve added pictures of Robin in his costume.

Enjoy all the photos. I took some pictures of the dolls in the drawing, but I missed the sweet little baby :(

No worries, I’ll take pictures of her tomorrow!

At 6:00 we walked into the conference center and immediately recognized Sasha friends! It’s great to see so many people with the same passions!

First my mum and I officially signed in to the festival. We received a black bag full of goodies. I love all the brochures about Rochester! Because my mum and I are first time festival-goers we received cute pins with a picture of Sasha on them!

Second was the meet and greet! I’ve had the pleasure to meet so many wonderful people, and put faces to the names! We spent a couple hours mingling with Sashas, Gregors, Toddlers, and Babys and their mums!J Sydney got to meet another twin! I’m amazed at the difference in the faces!

At 8:30 we all went into the lobby and the swap meet began! I didn’t have anything to swap, but it was tons of fun to watch. We wrapped everything up at about 9:30.  I’m really tired, but after a good nights rest I’ll be ready for tomorrow! Enjoy the pictures. Sorry the quality is poor, the lighting was really bad.

P.S. Sorry I didn’t get this up sooner, I had to sign up for internet connection.

Pattern Slideshow

In order to test out doing a slide show for the Sasha Festival, this is Gabi’s dad attempting a test…..

Looks like it works.  Isn’t technology wonderful!!!!

Yesterday my guild hosted a Ysolda Teague book signing and trunk show! It was so wonderful to meet her! She was such a lovely person to talk to! I’ve always loved Scottish accents! I hope she’ll come some time again!

We all sat down while she gave us a presentation, then she welcomed questions! Every question that was asked she answered with a smile. She encouraged everyone to come up and touch and try on all the garments! Her designs are even prettier in person, if that’s possible!  I too a few pictures and she was nice enough to pose with me!!!  Here are the pictures!

After seeing Matilda Jane and Coraline  in person I really want to make them!! I only hope someday my designs will be half as amazing as hers!

In two days I’ll be leaving for the Sasha Festival! I can’t wait! I’m very pleased so many people are looking forward to my posts! Now I’ll have to make sure I do it!

Sasha Festival here I come!
